East Block

Art and animation is performed live and unscripted on tablets by SIDMís talented students. The images are projected onto entire walls and as visitors witness the creation over time, and how several artists can collaborate with each other in real time to create a collective work of art.

Up to 4 students can collaborate on a single digital mural accompanied by music.

Visitors can walk up to the students to request for items/objects to be drawn and projected onto the digital canvas.

ATARAXIA is an interactive light installation created by 12 students from the 2nd and 3rd year cohorts of the Diploma in Interaction Design, Nanyang Polytechnic.

Ataraxia refers to a state of freedom free from emotional disturbances and anxiety, and the installation ATARAXIA is an immersive interactive space that brings a mediated nature closer to our urban life.

Visitors can scan markers on glowing tree-like sculptures using an Augmented Reality (AR) app, allowing them to see and interact with cute animated characters that pop out from the installation on their mobile phones.

Acrophobia is an extreme fear or phobia of heights, especially when one is not particularly high up. It belongs to a category of specific phobias, called space and motion discomfort. The options of treatment for Acrophobia currently consists of behavioral programme or therapy in which someone is incrementally exposed to high places. However, such cases of exposure may have an adverse effect on the therapy patient, which can affect the result of the therapy. The use of Virtual Reality may help in creating a safe environment in the therapy session before actually exposing someone to high places. Therapy patient will put on Virtual Reality Head Mounted Display and be placed in a virtual environment that simulates the high locations such as tall buildings, etc.

Experiment with creating one-of-a-kind light graffiti! Using a pixelstick, long exposure, and multiple strobes all in a single shot. The 15 seconds that it takes to make the light graffiti, is pretty unimpressive in real life real life, but when the camera "Clicks" that's where the magic begins. Whimsical, beautiful and ephemeral, your creativity is the only limiting factor. Definitely Instagram worthy!

KALEIDOSCOPE - Seasons Visualiser
Using sound, sight and touch perception to create a sensory process, experience the beauty of the 4 seasons ñ Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

The installation has 3 sliders, with each slider controlling a different element of the season via a visual display on the screen which reflects the mood of the season through an abstract art form, just like a music visualiser.
